Julion Hanson is a rare creative force that all artists aspire to be, Julio Hanson, is truly a talented actor, singer, songwriter, and dancer. A native of Inglewood, California, Julio has had principal roles in feature films American Caroland Angels and Demons, as well as, lead roles in numerous independent films and webisodes. Julio expanded his talents to television and stage with a recurring role on Telemundo’s RPM Miami and lead roles at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium and Robey Theatre Company. Julio is most proud of his portrayal of Paul Laurence Dunbar in Robey’s production of The Magnificent Dunbar Hotel,which was selected for the National Black Theatre Festival.
Julio grew up in a multicultural musical household, supported in piano and vocals by his classically trained parents; an African-American father and a Panamanian mother. Travels around the world to more than 14 countries as an entertainer are highlights of Julio’s professional career, including performing with Grammy-award winning Toni Braxton, Grammy-Nominated Keith Washington, and Soul Train Music Award Nominated Mint Condition. Julio has also recorded for the popular Grammy-awarded Chilean band La Ley and Grammy-nominated American Singer/Songwriter Kelis.
Julio was nominated for Best Musical Director at the NAACP awards for the acclaimed play Hattie McDaniels at the Long Beach Playhouse and is instrumental as a sound designer and musical director for the Robey.
Julio is an Assistant Principal, a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., utilizes his 6 languages and ASL for community building, and looks forward to obtaining his doctoral degree from Pepperdine University in Organizational Leadership.
