The Community Creatives Project
Launched in 2019 and offered through 2022, The Community Creative Project recruited and engaged thirty-five community members in the many developmental processes involved in taking a play from concept to full production, from the page to the stage.
The Robey Theatre Company commissioned a new play by Levy Lee Simon and conceived by Ben Guillory, Robey's Producing Artistic Director, titled A Heated Discussion (formerly with the working title of A Difficult Discussion.) The sessions were presented and recorded via Zoom and edited for inclusion in an in-house produced documentary.
Project Participants participated throughout the process leading to the full production of the play in Spring 2022. Also marking The Robey Theatre Company's triumphant return to in-person gatherings under Covid-19 Advisory.
