The Robey Theatre Company Cultural Diversity, Racial Equity and Inclusion Policy Statement

The Robey Theatre Company is home to a  community of artists and creatives.  We are committed to diversity racial equality and cultural exchange.  We welcome all regardless of race, ethnicity,  culture, ability, citizenship, and orientation.  Theatre is for everyone!

 Our Commitment:

For a quarter-century, The Robey Theatre Company has been committed to serving the African American community as well as other communities experiencing barriers to participation in the theatre arts.  The Robey Theatre Company 2017 to 2022 Strategic Plan is reviewed quarterly and guides the organization’s efforts to ensure mission alignment with our strategic goals and actions.  Our Vision Holders include our community of artists, creatives, board members, donors, and volunteers who all contribute to our decision-making, help shape our values, and support our work with their time, talent, and finance. The Robey Theatre Company  is intentional about its commitment and efforts to incorporate cultural diversity, racial equity and inclusion strategies throughout its operational systems including recruitment, hiring, casting and leadership.

This Cultural Diversity, Racial Equity and Inclusion Policy was approved by the The Robey Theatre Company Board of Directors on August 29, 2020.

The Board of Directors reviews all organizational policies, annually.
