Mission Statement

The Robey Theatre Company’s mission is to foster a community of artists whose purpose is to develop and produce plays written about the global Black experience.

At its core, the organization is committed to effecting social change and to the preservation, production, and reinterpretation of celebrated “Black Classics.”

The Robey Theatre Company envisions a world where all people have access to the transformative power of theatre arts.  One where creative people can thrive and share universal human experiences that make the world a better place.  A world where classical meets modern theatre breaks barriers and crosses racial, ethnic, and gender lines to improve civilization.
